Job Description
 
FULL TIME- REDFORD, MICHIGAN
 

As an Assistant Director of Dining Services you will assist in the responsibility for the overall operation of the dining service department in an  senior living community.  You will assist in operating the department in accordance with the approved budget, while providing the Client with the maximum value for dollars spent.  The Assistant Director assists in responsibility for ensuring the food offered to the residents, guests and employees of the community is of superior quality.  You will direct and conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs; while maintaining excellent relationships with residents, guests and Client, as well as other departments within the community.  The Assistant Director is also responsible for promoting the professional growth and development of their team.  In addition; you will assist in fostering strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the dining service department with the facility plan of operations.

Qualifications

 

  • A.A. Degree plus three (3) years of directly related experience preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of retirement or adult home/care experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training
  • One (1) to three (3) years of direct foodservice operational management experience in fine dining settings, with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
  • Culinary experience preferred
  • Three (3) plus years of direct foodservice operational management experience in a fine dining/hotel/country club setting, with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
  • Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Excellent customer services skills and experiences
  • Knowledge of P&L accountability highly desirable
  • Contract-managed service experience is desirable
  • ServSafe® certified
  • Certified Dietary Manager certificate REQUIRED
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (Federal & State) and drug screening
